Fisher-Price rock and play
Take or toss: Take!
The Fisher-Price rock and play was probably the single most important baby item in my first baby experience. My first baby was a terrible sleeper. Granted she was cute, totally, with all the cute baby stuff. But when it came to sleeping, she was a nightmare. I remember feeling like waking up two times the night was a good night. She would routinely wake up for five times a night in the first two months. Husband and I deduced that it was because she did not like to lie flat. And given with all the risks versus I couldn't think of any solution to prop her up. I think she had trouble with gas. The nurses in the hospital use to prop her up at a slight angle in that little plastic bin that they cart them around the hospital in.Anyway, I heard about the easy fold as it was called then from my sister-in-law and I saw that the angle the baby was lying at was almost exactly the same as the angle that she was in at the hospital. Then I saw that it was a SIDS approved sleeper. I was sold. as it was after my baby shower, I practically begged my mom to get me one for Mother's Day. When it arrived I was overjoyed. My husband and I both had an inkling that it would workAnd did it ever.! Our average of four wake ups per night drop down to two instantly. I don't think she slept for stretches of longer than two hours before we got that.
Two months later my cousin was in the same conundrum. Her sweet baby girl wouldn't sleep either. I recommended that what is now called the rock and play and she experienced the same results. Ever since then I've been recommending the rock and play to every new mom whoever asked me, maybe even a few who don't. They even have some cool features now like automatic rocking and plugging into your iPhone or smart phone or whatever. But all features aside, The good old rock and play does it's job. This one comes highly recommended!
